Successor to the Model 224,
the Model 24 features an internal slide catch: to return the pistol from slide-lock to battery, the slide is pulled back slightly to
disengage the slide catch, and the slide allowed to travel forward. The
trigger is reeded on its face for positive traction. The font sight is
mounted on a bushing directly attached to the longer barrel's
muzzle, as opposed to being staked to the slide.
Disassembly begins with switching down the disassembly lever to allow a full
rearward pull on the slide against recoil spring pressure, until the slide
leaves frame-rail engagement. The rear of the slide is then lifted slightly up and off
the frame and frame-rails, and allowed to return forward, until fully off
the the frame and the barrel.
The Model 24 was in production from 1989 to 1994, the last of the 4"
barrel Bersa .22 L.R.'s.
